Simple audio effects

<project_license>GPL-3.0-or-later</project_license>

Easy Effects is an advanced audio manipulation tool. It includes an equalizer, limiter, compressor and a reverberation tool, just to mention a few. To complement this there is also a built in spectrum analyzer.

Easy Effects is the successor to PulseEffects. Easy Effects only supports PipeWire's audio server. PulseAudio users should instead use PulseEffects.

Because Easy Effects uses the default PipeWire sound server it will work with most, if not all, applications you use. All supported applications are presented in the main window, where each can be enabled individually.

Besides manipulating sound output, Easy Effects is able to apply effects to an input device, such as a microphone. This is, for example, useful in audio recording, but it also works well during voice conversations.

When Easy Effects is launched it will conveniently remember the configuration used in the last session. It is also possible to save all the current settings as profiles.

Features:

A new Autotune effect (by x42-plugins) has been added. It can be used to correct the pitch of the input signal in real time.

The shortcut "Shift + Mouse Wheel" can now be used to change the value of a control in larger steps. Similarly to what is already possible with the page up and down keys.

Desktop notifications are shown when changing the global bypass state through a global shortcut. For now this only works if the system tray icon is used.

In order to minimize conflicts with other applications shortcuts our global shortcuts now use the Meta key.

When effects are disabled a new tray icon that represets this state is used.

The spectrum frequency range now starts at 1 Hz and ends at 25000 Hz.

Bug fixes:

The convolver feature that combines impulse response files was not working. Regression fixed.

Other notes:

Package maintainers should include the LV2 module of x42-plugins in order to make the new Autotune effect available.

In some distributions like NixOS the speexdsp library is compiled with the fftw backend. So we need to make our speex proecssor plugin to use our global fftw mutex. Otherwise using it together with the convolver or the crystalizer plugin can lead to random crashes.

The inactivity timeout switch value was not being checked in some cases.
